SUMMARY
Follow these steps to remove an Open House from downstream sites.
STEPS
Step 1: Pull up the Open House in Paragon.
Step 2: Change the date to today’s date.
Step 3: Change the starting and ending times so that the ending time is before your current time.
Step 4: Save the Open House.
Step 5: Check remote site(s) for confirmation of open house removal. Expect delays with remote site updates.
REASON
When records are downloaded using a data feed, the recipient receives current data. If the record has been removed from the feed, it is no longer contained within current data. The remote site therefore gets no record, which is interpreted as “do not update our local copy of the record because it has not been updated.”
By not removing the record from the feed but rather setting the date and time to before our current time, the recipient will get an updated record that takes place in the past. This has the effect of removing the “active” open house from the remote site because the open house now takes place in the past.
NOTES
This method may not work for all downstream sites but was tested against several major service providers.
